Kentfield is a census-designated place in Marin County, California, United States, just north of San Francisco. Kentfield is located on the Northwestern Pacific Railroad 2 miles southwest of downtown San Rafael. Kentfield has one of the highest average rainfalls of any community in the San Francisco Bay Area. Although heavy snow sometimes falls on nearby Mount Tamalpais, snow is rare in Kentfield.
